Unveils Colourful New Space!
An extension of owner Megan Panozzo’s passion and love of creative colour, Adelaide’s In Awe Salon has unveiled its new space and it is truly a wonderland of colour and texure! In other words, the salon screams MEGAN!
Originally opening its doors in 2012, In Awe has always evoked a free-spirited feeling, with colour and personality imbuing every aspect of the salon interior, welcoming clients into a space where they could be themselves and feel cherished.
Fast forward 8 years, and, finding they were at client capacity, with 7 chairs always full and the salon feeling like it was growing smaller in size, In Awe Salon 2.0 burst onto the hairdressing scene in August, a colourful offering of pastels, bright hues and inspired tiling and materials.
With bright blue Maletti basin chairs from Space Salon Furniture, and chairs from Joiken, clients are in the element of luxury.
Signarama in Melrose Park created the hot pink vinyl splashback, also creating the floor sticker and the kick boards for the walls and the wavy lines.
The beautiful tiling was completed by Travis Lamb from Lamb Bathrooms, with the painting expertly navigated by Ben Cunningham of Waterpark Decorators; hand painting the pink and green blocks above the mirrors.
“I also made the choice to abandon the traditional idea of a reception desk. I am fully connected to my clients throughout their visits; we share so much and I follow a really heart-led experience for them. We ask our clients to stay in their chair at the end of their visit and use our iPads and check them out with the Timely app.” Further enhancing this holistic approach to the client experience, the In Awe team complete all retailing and rebooking in the chair, whilst they’re sitting on a stool, capturing and working with the same energy that’s connected us throughout their visit.
“I want to be the Uber of hairdressing,” laughs Megan. “Once all of my clients are using the new payment feature in Timely they can walk out the door without even having to have money change hands.” Signing the lease on the new salon a week before COVID-19 hit, it was a challenge to envision the new space coming to life.
“It’s been such a blessing that we now have all this space to grow the team and still provide a space for clients to feel safe, in the wake of COVID. Finishing the salon has been something for myself and my team to really look forward to, and I have cherished my team and their love and ownership of the space. It’s definitely been a great moral booster in 2020!” Says Megan.
